Medicated assisted weight loss programs help provide an extra tool to aid in weight loss. This is not a magic fix, it will still require a healthy lifestyle to achieve and maintain results. Your provider will need to check over an in-depth medical history to determine if you qualify and if so, what method of weight loss medication is right for you.
You will automatically NOT be a qualified patient if you have any of the following:
*Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
*Are already on a stimulant drug or a drug that may interact adversely
*Have major medical conditions involving the heart
We provide primarily two methods of weight loss medication:
Phentermine, a controlled substance medication is a stimulant to help increase your energy and decrease your appetite. You will receive a prescription one month at a time, requiring you to take 3 months on and 1 month off. You will come into the office monthly for a weigh in, including record of BMI, muscle mass, body fat percentage, caloric maintenance, and visceral fat scale. The most common side effects reported are dry mouth and troubles sleeping.
Semaglutide, a weekly weight loss injection is given to help your body feel full in turn decreasing appetite. This medication was originally developed for Type II diabetics and was approved for assisting in weight loss. It works by slowly leveling off and maintaining your blood sugar levels. After 4 weeks of the base dose, you will increase to the next dose over the next 4 weeks and so on the next 4 weeks. You will weigh in at the office at the end of every dose, including record of BMI, muscle mass, body fat percentage, caloric maintenance, and visceral fat scale.The most common side effects reported are nausea, vomiting or diarrhea but will vary on a patient by patient basis.
We do not work directly with insurance companies to cover the cost of these weight loss medications.
First you will set up a pre- screening to determine if you are a candidate. If so, you will then schedule for your initial start up appointment. Your next steps will be determined and scheduled by your provider. The initial appointment requires a pre-payment of $150.
Prices of future appointments and medication are determined by which option is best for you.
